Acellular dermal matrix

Bioxilium is an acellular dermal matrix of human origin, developed by the BIOGRAFT laboratory and obtained through the proprietary and patented DermaTech process. This technology efficiently removes cells and DNA, resulting in a sterile and safe implant that prevents immunogenic reactions when placed at the site of injury and reconstruction.

Due to its natural dermal structure and preservation of inherent growth factors, Bioxilium promotes adequate revascularization and cell proliferation at the treatment site, contributing to tissue regeneration.

Benefits:

  • Ease of use: Ready for application. After rinsing in sterile saline solution, it is placed directly at the injury site.
  • Superior biological response: Intact acellular collagen structure that preserves native growth factors characteristic of the dermoepidermis.
  • Strength: Being of human origin, its resistance is comparable to that of natural dermis.
  • Versatility: Can be secured with sutures, staples, or by apposition. It may be trimmed and meshed to fit the required size and is compatible with negative pressure therapy.
  • Safety: Sterility assurance level (SAL) of 10⁻⁶, medical grade.
  • More than a biological dressing: Suitable for complex injuries with exposed structures such as tendons, bones, or muscles.

Indications:

  • Deep second-degree burns and third-degree burns
  • Diabetic foot
  • Chronic and complex wounds
  • Ulcers due to venous or arterial insufficiency
  • Chronic ulcerative lesions
  • Breast reconstruction following cancer
  • Abdominal wall reconstruction
