Description
“The obelisc system for vertebral body replacement is intended for the surgical reconstruction of bone defects in the anterior thoracic and lumbar spine. The obelisc implant allows for in situ expansion of the defect. The central elements of obelisc, available in eight sizes, can be continuously expanded to bridge defects up to 132 mm in height. This enables the replacement of one or multiple vertebral bodies. The necessary height of the obelisc implant is precisely adjusted by the conical gear of the introducer. The implant maintains the adjusted height, which can only be altered by rotating the conical gear again. Subsequent locking is conveniently performed through the introducer. Thanks to the compact design of the expansion mechanism, the obelisc implant can be placed using minimally invasive techniques.”
