ROTAIO

Cervical Disc Prosthesis

Description

“Every prosthesis is mobile. The goal of ROTAIO is to reproduce the natural movement of a healthy intervertebral disc. The solution involves a variable center of rotation that facilitates the physiological movement guided by the facet joints. In this way, the emphasis is not only on preserving mobility, but above all, on the quality of the natural disc’s movement. Despite the complex joint kinematics of ROTAIO, the surgical technique remains very simple. ROTAIO is implanted using the ‘gold standard’ Smith-Robinson technique as a single component, without any additional preparatory surgical steps. Thus, ROTAIO can be described in a simple sentence: it is implanted like an intersomatic box and moves like an intervertebral disc.”
