Description

JELONET by Smith & Nephew is a sterile wound-contact dressing made from an open-weave Leno acetate gauze impregnated with soft paraffin. It is designed for direct placement on the wound bed, where it forms a protective interface between the wound and the secondary dressing.

The soft paraffin helps prevent the absorbent dressing from adhering directly to the wound surface. Its low-adherent properties support gentler removal and help reduce pain and trauma that may occur during dressing changes.

The open Leno weave allows exudate to pass through the mesh and into a secondary absorbent dressing. JELONET therefore protects the wound surface without blocking the drainage of wound secretions.

JELONET is a non-medicated dressing: it does not contain chlorhexidine or another antimicrobial agent. When infection or an increased risk of infection is present, the wound should be assessed and treated according to healthcare professional guidance.

JELONET is indicated as a protective wound-contact layer for different types of wounds, including:
