Description
IODOSORB™ is a sterile antimicrobial, absorbent and debriding dressing containing 0.9% cadexomer iodine.
Its cadexomer beads absorb excess exudate, slough and debris from the wound bed. As fluid is absorbed, iodine is released gradually and the dressing forms a soft, moist gel. A change in colour indicates when the iodine has been depleted and the dressing should be replaced.
INDICATIONS
- Pressure ulcers.
- Venous ulcers.
- Diabetic foot wounds.
- Postoperative wounds.
- Traumatic wounds.
- Dehisced wounds.
- Burns.
- Skin graft donor or recipient sites.
- Chronic wounds with moderate to high levels of exudate.
- Acute wounds containing non-viable tissue associated with infection.
- Use under compression therapy when clinically indicated.

It must be used under medical supervision. It is contraindicated in patients with thyroid disorders, iodine sensitivity or renal impairment and should not be used during pregnancy, breastfeeding or in children.
