Description

VISCOPASTE™ PB7 is an open-weave cotton bandage impregnated with a paste containing 10% zinc oxide.

It is designed to provide comfort and relief, protect the periwound skin and help reduce skin irritation. Its formulation does not dry out during treatment and helps maintain an appropriate moist environment over leg ulcers.

In patients with venous insufficiency, it may be used as a contact layer beneath a graduated compression system, provided that an appropriate vascular assessment has first been completed.

INDICATIONS

• Supportive management of venous leg ulcers.
• Protection of periwound skin.
• Skin irritation associated with leg ulcers.
• Chronic eczema when occlusion is indicated.
• Chronic dermatitis when occlusion is indicated.
• Use beneath graduated compression systems in venous insufficiency.

Before compression is applied, a vascular assessment must be performed to rule out arterial disease. Compression should not be used in patients with an ankle-brachial pressure index below 0.8 and is not recommended in patients with advanced diabetic microangiopathy.

For topical use. It should be applied under professional supervision and must not be used in patients with a known sensitivity to any of its components.
